The action on the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan is really hotting up. The Independent Hearings Panel, chaired by Environment Court and District Court Judge David Kirkpatrick have posted a timetable for pre-hearing meetings, mediations, expert conferencing and the hearings before the panel through to 26 May next year. On some days parallel sessions are being run in the same day.
UDF is collaborating with NZIA on this process. A steering group of 12 drawn from architecture, planning, urban design and landscape architecture including Adam Wild of Archifact – architecture & conservation ltd have met to plan the strategy for resourcing the major undertaking that they are embarking on. It has been agreed to draft in further members from across the disciplines, so the load does not fall too heavily on the stalwarts and to engage a project manager.
