mt eden pacific island
presbyterian church

The Mt Eden Pacific Island Presbyterian Church is a place of recognised cultural heritage value listed in the Auckland City District Plan including its building interior and site surrounds as a Category B heritage item.

The former 1885 church is of gothic style, which has since been used as a hall following the construction of the adjacent 1901 neo classical church. The two buildings are recognised by the local council as good examples of early churches in Auckland. The interiors of both church buildings are relatively free of alterations.

Archifact was commissioned by the church property trustees to provide independent objective architectural and engineering analysis of the existing buildings and site. Archifact also provided guidance and supervision to the reinstatement of the drystone wall, as well as co-ordination of the monitoring of the work by Council staff.
