homebush woodshed

The Homebush Woodshed has been used as a shearing, wool packing and storage facility since 1879 and remains operational today. It is a symmetrical t-shaped brick building with a cross-hipped roof.

The woodshed is a place of significant cultural heritage value. It is a witness to early Canterbury history as well as being an example of fine architectural detailing in a farm building. The woodshed is generally in original state. It has undergone some adaptation to accommodate changes in farm technology that has added to its significance as a farm building that is still in use.

A conservation plan for the woodshed was prepared to ensure appropriate repair and maintenance of the building for its future use.
