chapple house

Located on the solidified lava rim of Lake Pupuke this single storey residential home built in New Zealand vernacular style has no excavated foundations.  Floor levels of the heritage house conform to the contours of the volcanic rocks where the main rooms are positioned along a north-south axis creating a collection of pitched roofs with transom lights along the roof apex.
